After all this hacking be nice to see something out my serial port. Firstly, not all games support gamepads, secondly if you have the 360 controller, i hear theyre better supported c: and lastly, you can try getting an app that manages the controller and interfaces it with the app, maps it to the touch controls of its not supported for example, theres a few out there, havent tried any myself because i only have a ps3 controller and couldnt get it working with. Must actually get a keyboard and see if what I have does something with my Microchip.

Linux does have a driver "xpad" which it uses so maybe I could look at it's code and work out what the device is doing? Any other suggestions would be appreciated, I suppose reading xpad source I'll learn something -) No Joy :-( Working through the code I put in a few debug statements and find that the gamepad ain't defined as a HID Device :-( Plugging it into linux and examining it gives:īDeviceSubClass 255 Vendor Specific SubclassīDeviceProtocol 255 Vendor Specific Protocol I got them all built into a project and plugged in my gamepad device.
